Is your boat reaching its full potential? Often times your performance
goal is only the turn of a prop wrench away! A rule of thumb regarding
propellers is the higher the pitch; fewer rpm will be generated; while
the lesser pitch propeller will increase your motor’s rpm. Your motor’s
rpm range must be kept in mind when selecting a prop.

Lower units, gear cases, also known as the foot of the motor are
available in a couple different shapes. Rounded gear cases are the
manufacturer’s standard on most motors. Nose-cone gear cases are
usually an aftermarket upgrade; with the exception of some high
performance motors.

One of the most frequently asked questions on a boat is the prop.
“How do I Improve my hole shot”? One way is by dropping in prop pitch or diameter and the
other is ventilation. Prop ventilation is allowing the blade to slip through exhaust bubbles from holes
drilled in the prop or around the “Hub” or tube that the blade is connected to.
