Which Jack Plate is for you?
There are many Jack Plate manufactures that build several different style plates. Which jack plate best suits you? Bobs Machine shop builds jack plates for just about any boat they have one of the best selections for different set backs.
 
Bobs have a vertical lift of approx 6” and vary in set back from 4” to 10” in a box style aluminum plate. The bobs pump assembly mounts inside the boat and hose kits can be assembled with bulk head fittings in any length the bobs complete kits range around $1,000.00 installed. CMC Cooks Manufacturing builds jack plates with 6” of vertical lift and vary in set backs from 6” to 12” there plates are all one unit with the pump assembly attached to the plate so there is no need to have a pump mounted inside your boat. CMC Complete Plates installed run around $950.00. T & H Marine has Jack plates very similar to the CMC with there pump assembly attached as well to the jack plate making it one unit. The T& H plate assemblies run around $950.00 installed. One of the most unique jack plates is the Porta Lift.
 
This Jack plate has about 10” of Vertical lift and as it lifts it scissors moving the engine toward the transom as it raises into the up position. Porta Lift also builds plates that will hold multiple engines varying in different set backs to fit your needs. You can also customize the color of your plate they will powder coat. Porta Lift Plates pumps mount inside the boat and the complete plate assembly for a single engine runs approximately $3,000.00 installed. If you are looking for something for you’re hi performance flats or bass boat and want to spend a little more money Stainless Marine has their Gorilla Jack Plate that will hold any horse power. The Plates come in black color and you can order different set back extension plates to get the set back you need. Stainless Marine Jack Plates run Approximately $2,500.00 Installed.
